My biography
My small business,"Galerie de Jean Louis Vasseur" virtual space to present a very real artistic activity. Of all the techniques used, acrylic is currently in my favor. “Normal” or “slow” drying, opaque or translucent, it allows me to express the sensitivity and energy that I hope everyone will feel.
Curious about the present and these new technologies which are flooding us, curious about men in their extraordinary daily lives.
Fascinating work on color and shape to create a language, establish a dialogue with the viewer, make them feel an emotion.
A work driven by a passion. The sea.
Inspiring.
Children's memories filled with dreams of long journeys, of legendary stopovers. Memories of crews on legendary old rigs or modern sailboats. Moments of contemplation in the solitude of shifts. Contemplation of these vast spaces with no other reference than the sky. Rhythms of colors, sounds, sensations.
Inspiring.
Figurative heritage painting to bear witness to the work of men and their relationship to water. Paintings in an original and more contemporary style: flat surfaces, colors, simplified shapes and all the variations that the passing spirit of time inspires me.
My technical approach:
-Digital models on iPhone, the modern-day scratch book, and final creation in acrylic on canvas support.
-Original digital works composed on the big screen.
- Numbered and signed “fine art” prints.
-Marketing on my site's store.
It is under the watchful eye of a benevolent critic that Jean Paul Zak, Graduate of Fine Arts from Strasbourg and art publisher, stimulates my creativity and leads me to free myself from the detail of the figurative to move from the representation of the object to the sensations it conveys.
